[Quixtar News: Nov. 3, 2005]
Quixtar Inc. today announced fiscal 2005 sales of $1.058 billion, the third consecutive year in which the company surpassed the billion-dollar mark. In addition to sales generated by Quixtar Independent Business Owners (IBOs) for the company, a company record $76 million in revenues were generated for Quixtar's online Partner Stores.
In addition to earning retail profit on products sold to their clients, IBOs earn bonuses and other incentives based on sales volume generated by their business groups. For the year that ended Aug. 31, 2005, IBOs earned $345 million in bonuses and other incentives.
While sales and bonuses and incentives dipped slightly for the first time in Quixtar's six-year history, cumulative results for the time frame remain strong. Total sales since Quixtar's launch in 1999 are now about $5.3 billion, with nearly $400 million in additional revenues generated for Quixtar's Partner Stores during that same period. For their efforts, IBOs have now earned more than $1.7 billion in bonuses and other incentives.
"This was a solid year for the Quixtar business," said Jim Payne, who became Quixtar's Managing Director in 2005. "Obviously, you always want to see the sales figure go up, but we were pleased to see the continued growth of IBOs at all levels in the business. We also bolstered our number-one ranking in health and beauty online sales by converting more of our sales to the web channel and introducing an outstanding collection of new products."
Driven by its strong Health and Beauty brands, Quixtar was again ranked #1 in online Health and Beauty sales by
Internet Retailer's "Top 400 Guide" in 2005, and 14th overall in e-commerce. Among highlights contributing to those rankings for the 2005 fiscal year are:
-
Online transactions resulting in more than 70 percent, or $753 million, of Quixtar's overall sales, up from $748 million the prior year.
-
-
The launch of the new AtmoshpereTM Air Purifier, which removes more than 99.9% of all airborne pollutants that pass through its filters.
-
The reformulation of Quixtar's flagship health product,
Nutrilite® Double X
® Vitamin / Mineral / Phytonutrient, to deliver more plant concentrates and antioxidant protection.
-
The introduction of new Nutrilte supplements, new
Artistry® skin care and cosmetics products, the new
Trim Body System featuring Trim Advantage© weight management products, new XSTM Energy drinks and
XS Power Nutrition products, and more.
"Excellent new products and the energy that they create in the marketplace will continue to position Quixtar as an industry leader in e-commerce and among companies providing business opportunities to the public," said Payne. "We continue to focus on providing the best business opportunity in the U.S. and Canada, rewarding entrepreneurs for their efforts to market our high-quality products and develop others who will do the same."
